I needed a small laptop just to watch videos I couldn't watch with Linux and they had exactly what I was looking for and when I deleted the driver for the touchpad and mouse they fixed it for me. They also have a good selection of used keyboards, mice, cords, and cables. The only thing is they don't work on Linux.

28 Dec 2021. Walked in today around 1PM. First employee immediately said "Someone will be right with you." 30 seconds later. Met first by Hassan. He greeted us as we walked over and was in a great mood. Great start! Hassan is an excellent rep for Kaplan Computers. We were looking for an Apple Ipad. Hassan advised us they were awaiting their next shipment.
He then offered to suggest other comparable even if we bought some where else. Hassan further answered a question about iPhone and was MORE than willing to help. Great employee. 10 out of 10 I will recommend the Kaplan Store to others. Compliments to the management. Carl.

I have been a customer since 2011 and this place is the best. I buy all of my personal and business machines here. No spam preloaded like the big box stores, sales people actually know computers, and service department is exceptional. I am still working with business class pcs they sold me used from 3 years ago. THE best experience there! Great people; Dominic and Andrew! Service was excellent. They were patient with me as I was in a tizzy about my laptop. It ended up not being anything big at all but if it was, I would have trusted them to take care of that as well. I highly recommend going here. You'll get the personalized service that you don't get in big box stores.
Their kind, considerate, professional and can help ease your worries about your computer. I don't know much, but they offered me a chance to come back and they would take some time with me to learn more about my laptop and how to use it. That's the kind of company I want to be dealing with for my computer needs.

Had a problem with our laptop. These guys were able to diagnose the problem quickly and solved it almost faster than that. The fix was far cheaper than I anticipated and I couldn't be more grateful. If you need computer help, support this local business and not geek squad. Not only will you get better customer service, but you'll be supporting small businesses!

I've used Kaplan's services a few times over the years. They have always been on point for my needs. I just recently purchased a laptop and a desk top for my company. I had an excellent experience at Kaplan Computers. The employee who greeted me was instantly available to hear about my problem, and was able to identify the exact way it had happened within a minute. They then offered to take my computer in immediately, and before I had even finished filling out the paperwork they had ordered the part and they stated that they would do the repair immediately after the park arrived. 10/10 would recommend everyone with a broken laptop or who is looking to buy a laptop from a physical store to come here. Edit: For anyone who's interested, the employee who greeted me was named Dom so if the owner sees this, please give him a raise! Edit 2: They fixed the computer in only 3 business days! I'm impressed by their quickness and easy ability to do repairs. Highly recommend anyone with a broken laptop to come here, you'll have it back probably in less than a week!

Ive been here twice to fix physical issues with computer. The first time it was a broken charging port and an issue with the screen backlight and the second time a dislodged charging port and a small crack in the bottom portion of the computer. Both times, I was told fixing these minor issues would cost more than the computer itself? I have a Dell Inspiron, it starts at $800.
I don't know if the techs I've spoken to just don't want to do their job or don't know what they're talking about but I'm annoyed. I got the charging port fixed elsewhere for $70 lol.

I am a fan of Kaplan Computers after buying a 13 MacBook Pro from them a few years ago to replace another MacBook that I destroyed when I spilled coffee all over its keyboard, not acting swiftly enough to ensure internal organs weren't destroyed. No, they're not *actually* called organs. I was a mess at the time with deadlines to meet and a now inoperable machine.
A close counterpart recommended Kaplan to me and when I took to their website it seemed I could get a used MacBook at a reasonable price (just under $800). So, off I went. The showroom is pretty impressive and they really do have a large variety of computers to choose from. Being an Apple nut, I wasn't entertaining anything but another MacBook.
The gentleman who assisted me was helpful in answering the few questions I had. Aside from installing more memory I've not done anything to this laptop other than run its updates as they arise. This machine is a bit like Old Faithful and I hope it'll hang on for some time to come. If I decide to buy used again, I will for sure be returning to Kaplan.

My laptop stopped charging for some reason. I was not sure if it was the problem with my charger or something inside the laptop was wrong. My laptop had a usb c type charging port. They were not even willing to just put a usb c charger and see it that resolves the issue. Instead they want me to give the laptop for diagnostics which was $60, and will take another week to complete. I took to Bestbuy. Geek squad guy put a usb c cable and it worked fine. I just had to order a new charger for my laptop.

Kaplan Is the only place I go to for computer equipment. They are small so are a nice alternative to the impersonal big box or online stores. It's really easy to get help from service or sales. Yesterday I went in with a monitor that wasn't working and I wasn't sure if it was the monitor, the cable, or the video card. Service troubleshot while I waited and quickly came back with a diagnosis -- the monitor was the problem.
Then I went to sales and got a much better monitor for half of what I paid for the old broken one. The whole visit from entry to exit was done in minutes. They also recycle old computer equipment which I've taken advantage of multiple times. I really appreciate a store that helps the environment. You might get a better deal online or at a big box store for certain items, but I 'm pretty sure you won't get better service if something goes wrong.

We purchased a battery for our laptop.the service support was good.they addressed our queries properly and helped us to get the battery which was not available immediately.they called us when the product was available. I appreciate their prompt response and communication. I suggest this place for computer and laptop repairs and accessories.

I purchased a refurbished Lenovo T4-10 from Kaplan Computers on Oct. 9, 2017. It had a 90 day warranty. On 12/27/17 the laptop would not connect to my internet network. I brought the laptop in to resolve the problem and Crysh (technician) updated wifi drivers and Bios with latest version, tested wifi and found no distributions in signal. The laptop was returned to me and one day later I started getting a Fan Error.
I brought the laptop back to Kaplan Computers and was told they would order a new fan and it would arrive in a week. My warranty would expire on Jan. 9, 2018. I asked if they would consider extending the warranty because of the problems I was having. I asked to speak to the Manager, and his response was "Make it quick, I am very busy." He denied my request and told me that returning the laptop would cost me 15% restocking fee.
I have never been treated so unprofessionally at any other store in my life. I am presently trying to reach Ken Kaplan, the owner, but he has not returned my calls. I am thoroughly disgusted with the way I have been treated and will share my experience with everyone. Do not purchase from this store as they do not live up to their promise of 100% customer satisfaction.

Have used their AWESOME repair services for years. We had a Dell server for our office that we purchased from Dell in 2001. Used their service shop to transfer our data as we out grew our hard drives. They were able to sell us new drives at a fair price and install the OS and our software/data from our old drives without a hitch. Even did it over the weekend so we didn't have any business interruption.
In 2011 we had to replace our server and went to Kaplan, instead of DELL, and had Kaplan build our office server to required specifications from our head office. It has been almost 5 years now and still going strong! We have recently purchased several refurbished iPads for our field staff and they have worked out fantastic at a great savings. I highly recommend Kaplan Computers for not only their expert knowledge and service, but also because of the value you can not get elsewhere!

I once went into Kaplan on early on a Saturday afternoon hoping to get a motherboard. I needed it sooner than later so I figured I'd see what Kaplan had. There was one woman working in the showroom area and I asked what they had available. She said she couldn't help all that much and that she'd get someone from the back who could. One of the techs came out and I asked what they had for motherboards.
He acted like I had disturbed him from doing something better and offered little to no help whatsoever. I got the feeling that it didn't matter that I was in the store trying to spend money with them. I am not the kind of person that chooses to spend money for bad service. I left Kaplan Computers without buying anything, never to return.

It's a nice place to buy a computer and accessorites. They did remove something on my computer, that didn't allow Microsoft updates, I had to put it back on, but, who knew. I'm still using a rebuilt computer, it's good, fixing to go check out a laptop.so I'm still satisfied, not really outgoing and friendly, but who is in CT?

Postives: -Fairy inexpensive to fix my computer Negatives: -On the phone, less than professional. -Never told me in person what exactly they were going to do to fix it -Never called -After a few days, I called and still no answer on my computer -Finally after a week went down there, and it was ready -Never was able to commuicate in person what exactly was wrong with my computer and how they fixed it -Dissapointed Summary: I probably won't go there again.
