Whitney has been fixing Macs and helping people use them for over a decade. He got his start in college after a weekend of gaming and questionable online behavior left his roommate's Mac with a blinking question mark on the screen and his term papers trapped inside. After a short string of gloomy Office(tm) jobs, he landed comfortably in Apple's tech support division for awhile before leaving the mothership to become independent. When it comes to using a Mac, Whitney knows what he's doing. He's helped literally thousands of Mac users and can help you too.

It's true, they don't get viruses, but Macs can still get sick. No surgery is too major or minor for Happy Mac, and we haven't had any malpractice lawsuits to jack up our fees. If your Mac won't start, can't get online, refuses to print, or has just forgotten where some of its files are, we can heal it.

I wouldn't swear to it but I think I was one of WHitney's first customers many decades ago. He fixed my Mac and has been doing it ever since. I moved to Del Rio long ago but I still depend on my Macs to be happy. My wife has Whitney happy her Macs as well. He has walked us through many a crisis and saved us. His car and feeding has been stellar. And he is funny to boot.

Whitney is a Mac wizard! Fixed up my old MacBook and it's been working great ever since. been few months now since i took it in. But i hadn't used my computer in a long time and he somehow whipped it in shape even upgraded its speed for no extra charge. He definitely knows his S**T when it comes to Mac's.

Wanted to support a local business during these hard times but regret choosing Happy Mac. Extremely slow service and zero communication. Things were always delayed past the day promised. This went on for 3 weeks. I understand their office is a work space, but the store was an absolute mess. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Beth often wasn't wearing a mask when I went inside. Whitney, the owner, never stepped in to help me despite Beth having a crying breakdown in front of me over not being able to repair my computer.
Put me in a really awkward place as a customer. They were ultimately unable to fix my computer but finally pointed me in the direction of a free Apple repair program. Still charged me $20 for a cable to fix the Touch ID which ended up not working. Shipped my computer off to Apple and got it back, repaired for free and even cleaned, within 3 days. Should've started there.

Happy Mac is the first place I go with any issues or questions about my MacBook Pro or Mac desktop computer! Whitney and Deb are very knowledgeable and have always helped me figure out what parts to purchase or what next steps to take. I have been visiting Happy Mac for the last twelve years and recommend them to friends and clients often!

I took my I-mac here that I found by a dumpster and they wiped it and reset the login info for me. The service was cheaper than anywhere else I looked at $40 and was ready the next day. They recommended affordable hardware for me to buy to increase my storage too. The computer works great and they even installed Microsoft office on it free of charge and without me asking. Whitney gave me great customer service and you can tell he is very knowledgeable when it comes to macs. Thanks HappyMac!

I had a severe crash on a new Mac that was literally one month out of warranty. The crash happened after performing an update to the latest OS version. The Mac forms were full of people having a similar issue an apple refused to acknowledge or do anything. I called happy Mac and Whitney said bring it on in and committed to getting back to me within a few hours.
He lived up to his commitment called back and advised that she was unable to get them back to restart and had seen a few other people with the same issue. He gave some great advice on how to navigate through the Apple support system so that I did not have to pay for the repair. Since he was not able to do any repairs, he offered to waive which is some thing I found to be incredibly uncommon in this day and age. I can assure you that anytime I need assistance with my Apple products, this will be my first stop!

I don't really know what to say or think of this place. Can you imagine a place full of computers and parts all over the place, including for the computer that I was looking to rebuild. yet the gentleman working said none of these machines were theirs and some have already been parted out, and scheduled to be given away, theywere totally unwilling to sell anything to me. Terrible service. Don't trust your stuff to a business who isn't even trying to help you.

I couldn't have been happier with my experience here! My Macbook Pro was acting strange, so I took it to the Apple store and they basically told me it was too old and they couldn't help me. They recommended I buy a new one. I then took my Macbook to Happy Mac. They identified the problem pretty quickly, fixed it in like 15 min, and charged a very reasonable amount. I was so happy I didn't have to buy a new Mac!

My computer has been running so slow lately. I took it to Happy Mac. Whitney replaced my hard disk drive (HDD) with a new solid state drive (SSD) in my 2015 iMac. He transferred all the files from the old disk, and even cleaned up the desktop; he also updated the OS to High Sierra and installed updates for all the various apps that needed to be updated.
It cost less than $300, and has effectively given me a new computer that runs faster than any Mac I've ever seen. I was very pleased with the service, and am happy to recommend Happy Mac.

I don't often write reviews. However, I want to show my support for this local business in North Austin. I had my motherboard and charging port go out on my macbook because of a coffee spill. I brought another, older macbook to see if it was a viable replacement. Deb and Whitney were so amazing. They counseled me on the best road to take considering all the factors that were in place.
They transferred data from old laptop to new laptop and gave great advice. What I was most impressed with was their desire to help promptly and the sensitivity to my situation. Also, if you're a nerd, they will teach you a few things about your machine that you didn't know.

I love Happy Mac! They have saved my life twice now. The first time my MacBook Pro 2013 shut down unexpectedly while working on a presentation I was going to give the next day (!) Whitney was able to find the issue and fix it within a couple of hours. It was amazing! Now I spilled 32oz of water all over my new MacBook Pro 2018 and although it seemed like it wasn't going to make it Debbie worked on cleaning it thoroughly and the computer turned on!
Thank you guys so much! I'm forever grateful. I would like to say that sometimes you'll have to wait a bit to get a reply on the status of your computer or even to get service but in my opinion it's well worth having a bit of patience.

Do not go here. My daughter took her computer in a month ago and no one will return her calls, or my calls. They tell us they will get back to us and they never do. I'm beginning to wonder if the computer was stolen. I guess the next step is a police report. They are extremely unreliable. You are taking a huge risk if you leave anything with them. Go somewhere else!

Noticed the reviews and decided to give them a try. I'm new to the area, and was thrilled to have a Mac repair so close. I showed up per their posted business hours and walked into a lobby of two other customers waiting. To our surprise nobody was in the shop. They said they were there for a good 20 minutes and were about to leave when the computer tech walked in. Thank goodness! They quickly repaired my Mac and I was up and running within a day. For that, I'm grateful!

Unprofessional and unhelpful. I called and asked for a quote on a screen repair for my laptop, and Happy Mac told me it would probably be $250-$300, but they would have to shop around. It takes Happy Mac a week to tell me the price of $450, plus $90 or so for service fees. This is fine with me as prices for this kind of thing are subject to change.
I decided it wasn't worth it so I just paid the $20 fee and went on with my life, assuming they did diligent research with vendors I do not have access to. I open my computer and Happy Mac left a tab open from Ebay. EBAY! I could have looked on Ebay myself! I was already pissed at this point. Later on, I look on Facebook and their worker, Whitney, had logged onto his Facebook on my computer. It's one thing to be on your Facebook on your own time, but aren't you supposed to be at work, working?
I can't help but feel like I paid $20 for Whitney to browse Facebook and search Ebay for a quote I could have found myself at no cost. I regret not inquiring further about what exactly I was paying $20 for, but maybe after you read this post you'll realize it would be worth it to take your business elsewhere, and avoid the hassle so many of these one-star reviewers had to go through.

I've used Happy Mac twice over the last couple of years, and both times they treated me incredibly well. Most recently I took my laptop in because it was intermittenly shutting down. Happy Mac recognized that my problem was a known issue and Apple had an extended warranty program for it, so they sent me to Apple to have my laptop repaired for free. They are super honest and do a great job. I would 100% recommend using these guys.

I had never heard of the store until a week ago when I was frantically trying to find someone to help me. The logic board on my MacBook Air got fried during a power outage at our office building. The Apple store was unable to retrieve the data from the SSD and didn't give me much hope of eventual recovery. Other companies I called didn't offer much hope of retrieving my data either.
I was slowly being forced to accept that 100s of hours of work was lost -- because there was no way I could afford the prices quoted by Data Recovery companies (and there was no guarantee that they could get to the data anyway). When I first called Happy Mac, Joshua was quick to tell me that they would not be able to do anything beyond what the Apple store had done and didn't want me to waste my money with them.
After asking me a couple more questions, Joshua said he might have figured out a way to retrieve the data. And he did. He was willing to ask questions, patiently listen, and go the extra mile to figure out a way to help me. And he did. Very quickly. For a fraction of the prices being quoted to me from various companies. Joshua was able to find a way to my data that the Apple store and other companies could not.
He cared enough and had the technical expertise enough to go the extra mile to find me a solution. I can't thank him enough for his help. Thank you, Joshua! Thank you, Happy Mac!

This is the most unprofessional business and the people that work there are confrontational and rude. They kept my computer for 33 days. I received no contact from them and when I called in, I got scolded that they were so busy. The woman named Debbie hung up on me and said she had other things to do. Clearly it's not repairing people's computers.
When I went to pick up my laptop, the owner hid in his office, and then came out in a confrontational manner, and told the computer techs to remove the part out of my computer and give it back to me so I could leave.

I heard such great things about Happy Mac, but have been extremely disappointed with their service. I took my MacBook Pro in twice. The first time they charged me $15 for a small fix, which did not solve my problem. The second time I dropped my computer off they told me it would be looked at by the end of the following week. No such luck. Two weeks and several nasty phone conversations later they told me I had to wait another week.
As a graduate student, 3 weeks without my computer is not an option. Needless to say I went and collected my computer without any service. I also had particularly unprofessional service from Kelly, who berated me over the phone, complete with her calling me "sweetie" and "honey" every sentence. You will notice several reviews that state similar comments about the customer service, which was deplorable. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS STORE!

Happy Mac is so weird that it should be an Austin tourist destination. Place reeks of cigarettes. Everyone's got tats. But there's always parking. You get a "what can we do for ya?" within seconds of opening the door. And then. BINGO; they actually do it for you at a price that's frikkin awesome and right away. I burned out the fan on my MacBook.
No problem. I consequently killed my hard drive. They revived it and rescued all my important files. Or. a couple of times - bless 'em - they've come up with work arounds that cost a nickel to the dollar of what I expected. For example, I was going abroad for a few weeks and me and my buddies were taking lots of smart phones, laptops, electric toothbrushes and what not.
How to protect, charge and use the web every minute while we are there? Here's what they suggested: 1) Buy a $30 surge protector with USB ports and multiple outlets. Then you only need one power adaptor for a lot of stuff AND it's all protected from brownouts. 2) Put your expensive phone providers on hold (if going for a month or more - it costs about $10 a month) and rent a portable wifi hotspot for about $5-6 a day. Genius, huh?
