Dropped off laptop which had a chronic very short battery life for diagnosis. No call back - so I went to the store, was told it was AC power supply (which it turns out was not accurate - there is a battery problem per HP). I was given a loaner power supply, and new HP AC supply to be ordered. No call back. After 10 days I went to store and was told my new power supply was sold to someone else. No apology, no refund, no re order.?

Recovered some files from my old PC.many other places said it was not possible. And reasonable charges.

These guys were extremely helpful with my situation regarding my Dell laptop. Very generous with pricing and very understanding of the urgency of my computer dilemma. I highly recommend

Phillip was very patient with me and went out of his way to try and accommodate me. He was also very communicative which is great when waiting for something like a laptop. Highly recommended.

Computer Plus fixed my custom PC twice in two years. Both times the wait time was reasonable, and the noted problems were 100% gone. Both times they told me the price before working on it and it was completely fair for the services rendered. I say that as someone with some experience in repair rates - the price is reflective of a repair technician with over twenty years' experience, and not an over-charge.

Best Buy is going to give you the customer service a national chain provides - none. Other smaller shops handle primarily tablets and phones, sometimes laptops. This shop is going to fix your computer, laptop or Apple product to the highest standard.

Far and away the best computer repair in DC, and let me tell you why. I had my custom PC fixed here once in 2019 - they had it fixed completely in a couple days and for under $300, even though they had to buy a replacement component. I had an installation a week or so ago I was not feeling ready to do myself. Best Buy was my first try, but the service just to set an appointment was bad.

I asked Computer Plus to help me out, and they did the work in just a few days, the majority of which was waiting for a part to be shipped in. The owner has been in the business for almost 30 years, so his prices are reasonable and reflect the experience of the team and the care they put in. There is also an option right on your initial ticket, to request an estimate before the staff begin work. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Imagine what they can do for your pre-built machine.

I spilled an entire cup of tea on the keyboard of my laptop and really did not expect that it was going to ever be functional again. But the guys at Computer Plus must be magicians because they fixed it! Phillip was very professional and courteous and it was a pleasure to work with him. I paid more than I was told originally, but I suspect it was because they had to do more work on my poor laptop than they expected. Anyway, it was a lot cheaper than getting a new one and I am very grateful. Also, it was ready for pickup the next day! Thank you very much a wonderful service.

BEWARE. If you have $100-250 dollars to throw in the trash and an abundance of free time, then this is the place for you. Called in advance to ask about how I needed to prepare my computer for servicing and took appropriate steps. Typed up and printed out my contact information should the technician need to ask any questions along the way along with explicit services I needed done: (1) annoying malware removal (2) hard drive memory reallocation.

Neither was done. To be clear, the malware was pretty minor - limited to Chrome web browser - I just didn't have the time to hunt down the source myself. Also, the company lists "PC & Mac Virus Removal-Data Recovery-Repair Service" AS PART OF THEIR TAGLINE (google: "computerplus georgetown dc") but couldn't remove even a minor browser malware.

The sad part was when I came to pick up my laptop, the person at the register just took my money without blinking an eye and no attempt was made to rectify or refund the $200 I donated to their business. At least a "sorry, we couldn't fix your machine" and I would've respected their integrity - but I have little evidence of that from my own personal experience.

My advice, is that if they quote you anything above $125 dollars and there is nothing critical on your machine you need to retrieve, you should seriously consider just buying an old refurbished or desktop computer for $200-300 instead and starting fresh. That is ultimately the path I took. Computers these days are pretty cheap as long as you're open-minded to the brand, device, and model.

This is a first rate company. What a relief to find a place with people you can really count on to do a job well with no worries. The owner and his technical assistant are superb and pleasant to deal with. I couldn't be more pleased with their assistance.

Unbelievable. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! they are absolutely useless and have no idea what they are doing. I called this place first thing in the morning to inform them that i had a water damaged phone that was completely dead and was interested in recovering the data off of it as it is listed as a data recovery center. I was very clear that the phone does not turn on at all. the tech i spoke with on the phone told me that he could extract the data no problem. when i asked for a price and time quote he told me $100 and a next day turn around (sounds perfect right?) so i leave work in the middle of the work day and spend 30 minutes getting to Georgetown then when i get there the manager tells me the phone will not be ready until Monday and that it will be $150. when i tell him i was told something different on the phone he didnt care.

I told them i needed it by tomorrow at the latest and he said he would try his best and see what he could do. I was desperate so i agreed. I leave the place and go 30 minutes back to work and wait a few hours then i call him back at 5pm just to see what the status is and he tells me that there is nothing they can do because they have had the phone on the charger all day and it will not turn on (?) When i asked what they did to try and power the phone on he said nothing all they did was charge it. excuse me? i TOLD you it didn't power on and was dead and that was the entire point of bringing it to a TECHNICIAN. he said there was nothing he could do and that i needed to come pick up the phone. when i asked what exactly he did try to do to fix the phone he blatantly said "nothing". this place is an absolute waste of time and don't even bother coming here because they clearly do not know what they are doing nor do they care who they inconvenience.

Phillip is fabulous. He is about the consumer and not the bottom line so you can trust him with your computer and he will tell you what your options so that you can make a decision that is best for you. Sometimes that means that you need to go to the Apple store or you need new computer but if CP does fix your device you know you will be in good hands.

I have brought three computers to this business over the last 5 years and am very satisfied with the service. Phillip and Jay are pleasant to deal with, will tell you what's wrong and fix it for a reasonable price or tell you if it's time for a new computer and recover the data on your damaged one. It's nice to deal with an honest business when you're dealing with the stress of computer issues!

My laptop was showing a black screen, even though it seemed to be powering on. I took it into Computer Plus (based on the reviews I had found on Yelp). The owner spent a few minutes with it and it turned out there was no problem: more like user error and a temporary issue. I appreciated his honesty and not having to spend additional time or money unnecessarily. I plan to keep this information on file for future reference!

It was my first time bringing my macbook in to Computer Plus. I spilled an entire cup of coffee all over my keyboard so I wasn't really expecting to get it back in working order. I'll get right to the point and say I'll definitely come here next time my computer needs work (hopefully that won't be anytime soon though!). Phillip was personable, prompt, and thoroughly explained everything they were going to do, including a detailed breakdown of the pricing.

I got my laptop back in fully working order in a couple days, well before the time they said I should expect it to be done. I will add that Phillip has a keen sense of smell because he knew exactly what kind of coffee, and that it even had milk in it, that had been spilled! Computer Plus is knowledgeable, personable service and makes your experience quick and easy!

Great service and very affordable! An initial reinstall of Windows turned out to be a faulty hard drive - computer plus went to the trouble of working with my warranty to get everything taken care of. Very good communication along the way. I'll definitely go back with any computer repair in the future.

Amazing service! And even better price! My MacBook bro hade water damage, not only did computer plus fix it within the agreed time, they did it for half of what Apple Store would have charged. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

My MacBook battery all of a sudden quit working, and I needed it fixed ASAP. I saw that Computer Plus had good reviews and went there to get it fixed. My laptop was fixed within 24 hours, and I don't have to worry about buying a new computer. Great and quick service, I highly recommend!

Great local store. They have helped me with performance and startup issues. They are also a block away from my house which is convenient. One day when I was working from home and had left my power cable in the office, I asked if I could rent one for the day. He found an appropriate supply for my laptop and let me walk out with it no questions asked. When I returned it that evening he refused any payment, but I insisted on a few bucks. Very knowledgeable and very nice!

My three-month old HP laptop kept freezing, and after reading every blog out there and re-installing software, getting new malware, deleting and/or inactivating everything possible, and trying everything else I could think of, I had done as much as I could by myself. Zarif came over within one day, and after running through what I did plus installing new system drives and several additional investigative services, then trying a new hard drive, and doing a second house call to try more fixes, he decided the only thing left to look at is the motherboard.

So I am sending the laptop back to HP. During this time he made a second house call plus two other special trips. Following the house calls he then came to my apartment (in Arlington) to pick up my PC and take it to the shop for work with the new hard drive, then he brought it back when they were done. He did not charge me anything for the second house call, the two special trips, or the work at the shop to try the new drive.

While my laptop is still sick, Zarif did everything he could. I was very impressed by how hard he tried and how much he wanted me to feel positive about the experience. And I did. HP on the other hand.boo.

Dropped off hard drive for data recovery on Sunday, rep said they would call in a few days to provide a status. Never returned my call, I called in a second time to get a status; again, they never returned my call. Had to call in a third time to ask for the status, they could not provide the status or a firm date when they could get around to look at it. Poor communication, they do not work in a timely manner or provide me any confidence of a status report or cost estimate. Do not recommend their services.

Great service and worth the price. The owner worked with me and was able to recover all my data that I thought was lost forever. He had great customer service was very patient with me. He had my hard drive and computer for a month since I live far from Georgetown and didn't really want to go out that far to get it plus I had a very busy schedule.

He never complained and allowed me to pay in installments. The price was very reasonable also. I checked many other data recovery places in the DMV area and they were considerably pricey with ok reviews. This place was just great! I'm glad I found it. If you need data recovered from a failing hard drive, then go here!

Don't go anywhere else for your computer repair. This is the place! Phillip is awesome. A sincerely nice person. I needed to update a computer that I wanted to donate to a nonprofit agency. When he learned I was donating it he offered to reduce the price of repair significantly. Then, when he found out that the computer couldn't really be updated to work properly for the needs of the nonprofit, he then called me back and said that he had a laptop that would be better and he would be happy to give it to me instead of the one I was planning on donating.

He has been in business since the mid nineties and it's obvious why. With Apple down the street trying to charge you for every cent and claiming they're "geniuses, " Phillip and Computer Plus remind you that the real deal is always the better way to go! Would give him 6 stars if I could! Go there!

After reading all of the great reviews I brought my MacBookPro here in November. It was stalling whilst starting up and finally just would not start up; I reinstalled El Capitan as the Mac Store told me, which allowed the computer to restart. Frustratingly, it would only start up once and then, after about 10 minutes of work, would crash again. When I arrived at Computer Plus, the gentleman working in the small shop did not want to chat; I tried to tell him that I had already reinstalled El Capitan and he dismissively said, "Don't worry, I will diagnose and fix it." I was told that I would get a call the next day once the problem was diagnosed; he told me the operating software needed to be reinstalled and asked for permission to wipe out my hard drive.

I replied that everything was backed up so it was fine to wipe out the drive, but that I had already done what he was telling me he was going to do to fix my laptop. This was met with a "Well that is the problem, don't worry, it will be taken care of." The next day, I called and was told that my laptop was fixed. I arrived to pick up my computer and the same gentleman I met initially started up my computer, saying he reinstalled El Capitan and the machine was fixed; he insisted he restarted it a few times and all was good.

Imagine my anger, then, a day after I got my Pro home and it crashed again and would not restart, just like before. After talking to a friend who works in IT, I bought a new hard drive and, sure enough, that took care of the issue. A waste of $180 bringing my Mac to this place.cannot recommend based on this experience.

If I could give this more stars I would! My 2011 Macbook pro was in terrible shape (bad hard drive, motherboard problems, really slow). When I took it to the Apple store they told me there was nothing they could do and i would need a new computer. I thought i lost everything. However, after bringing it here, I was able to trade my old macbook and get a working macbook pro the same make and model for $500.

Which included a a brand new and larger hard drive and all of my data transferred. I had minor wifi issues afterward which were also fixed free of charge! This was the best computer experience I've ever had a would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Had my macbook air battery replaced (Apple said they couldn't do it) and it works great. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
