Absolutely outstanding service. Very helpful and open both during diagnosis and repair. Since I moved to the Chicago area a little over 6 years ago I have brought in several computers for various issues. Each and every time they were exceptionally helpful, would call me and discuss what they're seeing and potential repair options. My only regret is that I didn't write a review sooner. If you are in the area and have any issues with your computer I would HIGHLY recommend calling Chicago Computers first.

In need of a laptopbrepair. Checked my favorite seach, YELP. Now I am rating this a 1 for the following reason. I arrived at the store only to find it closed. The Fort Hill Rd location in Naperville. When I called the phone mumber on the website I was told they had moved. Now if you are computer store and alledgedly top notch, would you not believe that you would update your website?
Yes it may be an oversight of a small detail, but I would not trust this company with valuable information. Even a small oversight can prove devastating. Sorry guys, found another computer repair location in Naperville, who, apparently pay attention to small details. I do not reccomend this store.

A couple of weeks ago, Dave helped me out with a laptop that was suffering from a combination of software, hardware, and mechanical problems. I was very pleased with the job, but I was even more impressed with the customer experience. I had some important work to complete on a deadline, and Dave was willing to go to truly extraordinarily lengths to ensure that I had a functional machine as quickly as possible.

I went in to get the DC jack replaced on my laptop. 2 1/2 months later it stops working. I bring it back in and they tell me that the motherboard has failed and that it was no longer financially viable to get it repaired. I have laptops older than the one I brought in and have never had a motherboard fail. It was convenient for them to blame it on the motherboard and not on how they replaced the DC jack. Either way, I'm out a laptop and all of my files. They wouldn't refund me on what I paid for the DC Jack as well. Because of my experience, I wouldn't recommend using them.

I was starting a new business and needed a lot of help with how to best set up my systems including email and access to my files. Rob Plank did an outstanding job of getting me set up with the new equipment I needed while keeping and using some existing equipment I had. Rob's follow through was top notch, and he made sure all my questions were addressed. I highly recommend Chicago Computers.

I had some problems with my old computer which they quickly diagnosed and fixed, including a couple parts that needed replacing. A few months later I decided to have them build me a new computer. They salvaged the replacement parts to cut down on my costs and they quickly built me a very slick new machine for less than Best Buy wanted for something not as good. Love these guys!

I was not happy with the service they provided. I gave my Laptop which had problem. They did not fix it. Moreover they told they are out of idea what is causing the problem. I took the same laptop to tiger direct and at least they located the issue and convinced me. Giving 3 rating because they refunded the labor fee but not diagnosis.

I was very disappointed with the service rendered by Chicago Computers. I dropped off a laptop to be checked out because I was having difficulty with maintaining a wireless connection - and I also told them that I wanted a broken touchpad mouse button replaced. They found nothing wrong with the wireless card, but indicated that they believed the hard drive to be failing, recommended replacement.
After almost a month - a period lengthened in part by slow responses to email communications and their repeatedly missing my desire to repair the mouse button, I picked the laptop up. I had been told that after the hard drive was replaced they had been unable to image the old drive, so they had put on a clean installation of Windows 7 (my previous OS) and copied my data files, but not applications.
When I got the machine home, I found that they had installed Vista, not Win 7. When I checked device managed, I also discovered that the hard disk they installed, though of equal storage capacity to my old drive, was significantly inferior (5400 rpm compared to 7200, SATA 1.5 compared to 3.0, and an 8 MB cache compared to 16). Frustrated, and needing to get my machine running, I contacted a friend - who was able to image my old drive and install all files, data, and applications successfully overnight.
I wrote to Chicago Computers about my experience, and my disappointment that they had not replaced my old hard drive with one that was at least completely equivalent. I have now (as of this writing) waited almost two weeks and have received no reply from them. I will not use this shop's services again, and I cannot recommend them to anyone else. I'm giving them two stars instead of one because although they failed in most respects to deliver what I consider good service, my laptop does indeed work, they did repaire the faceplate/mouse button, and they were polite and patient in discussions.

I never knew this place existed before yesterday, but I am extremely pleased that I found it. I had a rather unique issue that required an outdated component. Rob and his staff were incredibly professional, and provided insights into my issue that I would otherwise not have known. After dealing with the caliber of staff at Tiger Direct, my experience here was a breath of fresh air. Courtesy and friendliness like this are not often found in business these days. Thanks again!

I was having a huge problem with my computer and I could not figure how to fix it. I brought it to Chicago Computers and the guys who were there were very nice and friendly. The problem I had with my computer was very unusual, but they were able to find out the problem and fix it. I highly recommend anyone to go here for anything you need done with your computer.

My business runs off of my laptop and, although I've got carbonite and offsite backups, when the computer wouldn't get past it's BIOS boot, I was traumatized. I took it in and these folks brought it back to life. They were friendly and did what they said they'd do when they said they'd do it. I also had them upgrade and clone the drive so I now have a faster drive.
The building isn't much -- an old house in need of paint and better signage -- but if you're more interested knowledgeable service, my experience was good. The robot outside, sitting on a pallet, was a humorous touch, but he could use some paint. Oh yeah, free M&M's.

I went to get my lap top fixed. They told me it would take 2-3 days and that they would call me once they found out what was wrong. 5 days later, I still hadn't heard from them. I had to call them 3 times to finally get in touch. They said they'd call the following day and again they forgot. After hounding them, I finally got my computer back a week after I dropped it off. Whats more is that they had to replace my hard drive, but they didn't tell me that I would be losing all of the expensive programs I had installed before.
To repurchase them will cost me another few hundred dollars, on top of the steep prices they already charge. I also have to purchase another battery for my lap top because when I got it back, it couldn't hold a charge for over 15 minutes. It was a frustrating experience and I would not recommend going there.

So the DC Jack on my Compaq broke AGAIN! It wouldnt charge.this happens at least once a year. This usually results in me sending it to Compaq and paying at least $400-500 and then it breaking again after another year. This time I was fed up and took it to Chicago Computers. It is a small store front that is filled with computers just stacked up on every inch of floor and counter space.
The owner was friendly and knowledgable. He knew that my model of computer had this problem often and that he could fix it. It was only $100. I took it home two days later and realized it was not completely fixed. They took it back again and realized it was something else, and fixed it again, charging no labor becuase it was not fixed on the first time. I will definitely be taking my computer back here in the future.
