I let them look at my computer because I thought there was a problem with a driver. I was told 2-3 days to fix it because there were 2 computers being looked at ahead of mine. I sent an email to check in after a week (7 days), no response on my computer being fixed. I called the next day and I was asked to hold while the computer tech was on break, I waited for 2 hours until they closed and have not received a response.

My computer might be fixed or it might not, but I have no idea because the company obviously does not care for people who pay $80 up front for a problem that might just be a small technical problem. But I don't know if it's a tech problem or not because they won't answer me!

Called in at 10:45 on October 20th to ask for a quote about data recovery (GoPro) on a SanDisk memory card. Thought it was a relatively straightforward question but the girl who answered the phone seemed incredibly irritated, scoffed when I asked for a estimate and then hung up on me when I said "Ok thanks I'll check around and possibly bring it in". Not sure if I offended her somehow with but if this is how they deal with business inquiries I can't imagine what the actual service is like.

They charged me well over $700 to essentially replace a hard drive and some ram. First, they diagnosed my PC and replaced my hard drive. They said they backed up my hard drive but all the files were corrupt and none of my programs worked- I wouldn't have paid extra to back up my hard drive if I knew it was a waste of time. My PC stopped working shortly after I brought it home so I brought it back.

They determined the real issue was actually my ram so I had to pay even more. Not only did they misdiagnose my PC, they also made me pay for all of it. I ended up factory resetting my PC and losing all my files anyway. What a horrid waste of money. If you have PC troubles, buy a new PC, don't waste your money here.

Would give them 6 stars if I could! Progressive handled a very complex data recovery issue (RAID with multiple drive failures) for a reasonable price, with excellent communication at every stage, and very quickly. We got a full recovery of our server, and we couldn't be happier. Thanks!

Needed to recover my photos and files from my deceased 2008 iMac and external HD. Killed by lightning and power surge. It's been sitting for a couple of years. Thousands of photos and years of work potentially down the drain. I had backups on DVD but wanted to minimize lost files. Finally, got the bucks and called Progressive Tech. They were close, open and had a decent rep on Yelp.

Set appt., dropped off the old hardware. Previously shipped new external HD to them and went home hopeful, they kept me informed and picked up my new HD several days later. After setting up my new iMac and plugging in my external HD I found what I'd been looking forward to see, my photographs and projects all intact. They said the old iMac was fried but were able to recover most of my backups for projects and close to if not all my shots.

Very long story but I appreciate the effort and the results. it wasn't cheap but the level of professional services made it worth the $376 price tag. Plus, I got my photos back, they are valuable to me and almost impossible to replace. So fun to set up random screen saver using my work.

If you are anywhere in the north half of Seattle, there is no better choice for getting your computer repaired. I've had occasion to use them two or three times in the past year or so, and they are consistently great. This past year, they have handled a tricky SSD HD installation in our iMac, a memory upgrade, and the repair of a broken iMac screen.

In every instance, they were transparent about pricing, really fast, and really responsive when I needed info. Not to mention reasonably priced! Fast, friendly, affordable service that was easy to work with, and extended the life of an otherwise perfectly good computer. What more could you want?

This place ROCKS! It's quite scary letting go of your computer and trusting it in the hands of someone else, but the professionals at Progressive Tech took excellent care of my data. They ghosted and installed a new SSD in my Mac Pro and had the job done in about a week. I would certainly do business with this company again and again. Thank you for the professional service and great customer service!

This place deserves more than 5 stars from me! My computer was damaged by falling off a table and, in addition to a black screen, my hard drive was inaccessible. The Genius Bar referred me to Data Saver to get my files back, and I was quoted $1500-$3000 for a successful recovery. I decided to try out Progressive Tech instead as a first step and risked the diagnostic fee, since they seemed to have good reviews and a partnership with Data Saver.

I was initially skeptical Progressive Tech would be able to help, but I cannot say enough good things about my experience. They were able to not only fully recover, but also migrate, my hard disk to a new computer for $250 (including the diagnostic fee). They also offered to wipe my old hard drive and recycle my old computer. I cannot describe how grateful I am to have so many years of data back for such a comparatively affordable price. I am grateful I found them and would not hesitate to recommend Progressive Tech!

Waste of money and useless. Horrible customer service, Eric lied and over charged me. Technicians did the least amount of work possible and did not completely inspect the computer. They found 1 issue and stopped there.

I appreciate the technology help Progressive tech offers. However I'm tempted to leave a very low review today because of how rude they were to my quite elderly parents who came to pick up their computer. My mother expressed to me how grungy and unsafe the area felt and then she was concerned having my dad with her as he's quite frail and carrying a large computer around the people sleeping on the curb made her nervous For their safety.

I recommended they put on their hazards as they had a scheduled time for pick up, pull up to the curb and quickly do the pick up. Apparently the man at the store was downright rude about it and wouldn't even consider simply expediting the transaction for their safety. Even when she expressed she felt unsafe he said she would have to go park on the other side of the street. BAD business guys!

I can only highly recommend this place. They helped me out as quick as can be. Yesterday evening, shortly before their shop closing hour, I called them to ask about my mac book pro, which I urgently need for work, not any more booting and one of their team members even offered to come to the store one hour before the opening hours the next morning to ensure that the issue could get fixed as fast as possible.

I stopped by early in the morning and handed over my laptop and after less than an hour, I had an email from them telling me that only one cable needed to be replaced if I agree to it and the laptop boots again. What a relief, so thanks to them again!

Data recovery is not something you should ever have to experience. This was the case for one of my clients with tax data he needed quickly. Richard and team at Progressive Tech not only were able to quickly diagnose two completely different projects; one with RAID and the other with a damaged drive but did it in under a week. I run a repair business in Kitsap County and are happy to send my clients who need data recovery someone not too far away. Thanks for a great experience.

My spouse and I have relied on Progressive Tech several times, most recently a couple of days ago, when we each were experiencing mail problems on our Macs. In addition, I had recently allowed a scammer (masquerading as an Apple employee) access to my laptop for a few minutes, and was concerned that he may have installed malware before I escaped. The people at Progressive Tech handled our problems in short order, and for a very reasonable fee -- just as they had in the past. They impress us as very competent and entirely trustworthy -- plus, they've always treated us in a friendly, respectful manner.

Professional, confident and kind! Handled my broken laptop with a quick turnaround. Would recommend their level of service over most. Thanks Progressive Tech!

I inquired about how much it would cost and how long it would take to have my laptop battery replaced. I was told that it would cost $60 and take 3-5 days for them to "diagnose" what model of laptop I have. You know, something that you can do for free in a few seconds. Attempting to upcharge customers before they're even in the door doesn't inspire confidence in their honesty and integrity in providing services. You have better options in Seattle. Avoid them like the plague.

Outstanding work and terrific customer service, there isn't much more you can ask of a business. I first met them when my MacBook Pro had died, and rather then take my business, they double checked and sent me to Apple, because it was under warranty. Now that my MacBook is no longer under warranty and I wanted an upgrade I went back to them to see about getting the work done.

They were courteous through the entire process, explaining everything to me anytime I had a question. They did great work, getting me back my computer right on schedule. We actually hit a speed bump when one of the sticks of RAM they replaced actually went bad, but they were amazing about it. They took my computer right back as soon as I walked in, diagnosed the issue, got it running again and replaced the bad RAM at no charge.

They even cleaned up a bit of a malware issue I was having, again, at no cost. They're great as far as a business goes, but as a tech business, they are head and shoulders above the rest. There's no place else I will bring my computer to while I'm on the West Coast.

I had a difficult problem with a MacBook Pro, where the battery had swollen. They were able to source an affordable replacement top case from a suppler they knew for far below the retail price of a new part, replaced it quickly, and it was done expertly. Great communicators and fun to talk to as well.

Very friendly and helpful service. Also so quick and accommodating. Would recommend. Brought in my MacBook Pro 2012 which is quite old. Harddrive died on me. Spent north of $300 total with diagnosis, labor and parts. Runs like a champ, better than it's been in years.

I am so grateful to Progressive Tech! I had my Flash drive plugged in when I dropped my laptop. The laptop was fine but the Flash drive was not. I took it into Progressive Tech and found the employees there very warm and helpful. They took a look and told me they were pretty confident they could recover my files and they answered all my questions and concerns. Here's how they work: they charge a fee to diagnose the problem.

Then that amount is applied toward the repair costs. You can pay an extra fee to move up in the repair queue but I opted not to. Even so, they fixed my Flash drive super quick! (I brought it in on Thursday afternoon, they called me on Saturday with the diagnosis and called me again midday on Monday to tell me it was ready.) I highly recommend them! *Tip: when you visit them, bring something for them to transfer your recovered files to (e.g an external hard drive).

I'm grateful to this place for being responsive and replacing my computer's battery quickly! I had tried talking with another Mac repair shop a month ago that had said they would have to order the battery replacement in and it would come in a week. A month later, no answer. But these guys picked up their phone within three rings, had the part in stock, and were able to do the replacement in less than an hour. Thank you!

I am so grateful the Genius Bar referred me to this place. Unfortunately for my computer this year, my hard drive catastrophically failed on my 2011 MacBook Pro. Progressive Tech went above and beyond to fix my computer, install the new hard drive with wonderful storage space, and installed my OS. This computer, while very loved, is running brand new! They're the nicest bunch of people--Eric is endlessly interesting. Thank you so much, Progressive Tech for the Christmas miracle.

Love these guys! Went to the Apple Store and they said my iMac was one year older than they would work on. They offered to recycle it for me. Then one employee there recommended Progressive Tech. I brought it in and they replaced the power supply and did it even faster than promised. They told me all the prices up front. They even asked me if I was interested in getting a quote for upgrades.

I could have said no and they would have just fixed the power supply. I opted to hear about the upgrades and they let me know that they could bump up the mac's RAM and my machine would run better than ever. Yes! I wanted this. So, they fixed my computer and increased the performance. Sorry Apple, no recycling needed! Thanks Progressive Tech!

Excellent customer service! The apple store referred me to a data recovery specialist because they were afraid my hard drive had crashed and I had not backed up my computer. Progressive Tech was unbelievably friendly from the beginning and explained each step of the process for me. We talked on the phone several times and they were extremely patient (I know very little about computers). When I came to pick my fixed computer up, they spent an extra 15 minutes walking me through everything - it was exceptional.

Let me start by saying "BACK UP YOUR DATA!!!" That being said, I didn't and when I received the BSOD thought no big deal, let it do it's memory dump and I'll just turn it off and turn it back on, no problem. Well turning it back on caused the blood to leave my head. It would not boot to the hard drive. Panic then set in as I had put every picture that my new wife and I had ever taken on that hard drive.

From cross country trips and vacations to Mexico while we dated to every picture having anything to do with our wedding. My bride, who had told me, "You should back that stuff up to that external drive you have", was now glaring at me with eyes only an angry wife can have. I assured her that I could get it all back.

Looking around the web and searching Google, I came across Progressive Tech in Seattle.

I called and was introduced to Martin at the front desk, I told him about what had happened and how I needed my life back. He was very upfront with me and made no promises. Saying, they probably could get the data back but it could be gone forever. I didn't pass this along to my wife. I drove to their store and after meeting Chris, within 15 minutes was told that the data was still there and that it looked like it was going to be able to be recovered.

Still they would make no promises, but that fact that he could see it made me relax like you can't believe. Well to try to shorten this up. My data was fully recovered, my marriage is great and I am a happy camper. Don't every think twice about taking your equipment to Progressive Tech. They have a great team and will do everything possible to fix your problems. Thanks again Chris, Martin and the rest of the team.
