Price gouging opportunists and I will not return. Save your money and go to someone you trust. While my daughter was quarantined, the screen of my brand new work laptop became irreparably scrambled. My husband took it right away to The Nerd Patrol. He had to pay $86.24 up front for the labor and was told the new screen had to be ordered from their supplier but would not cost more than $100.

He was told that they could order the screen from Amazon, which would be faster, but probably more expensive. My husband said yes, please order the screen from Amazon as we wanted the work done as soon possible. He was told they were obligated to go through their supplier first. Fine. He was told the repair could be done in 7-10 days. Afterward, we looked up the brand new screen on Amazon.

It was available for $60. Two weeks went by without a word from The Nerd Patrol. Finally my husband called to ask about my laptop. He was told it had been done "for some time". When he asked why we were never contacted, he was told that they "must have written down the wrong phone number". Even if I believed that, my receipt indicates that his name and address were correct, and we have a listed phone number. 15 seconds on Google would have led these computer experts right to a number to contact us if they had wanted to.

Then my husband asked how much the repair would cost. $120.74. Minus the $86.24 initial payment, right? No, in addition to the $86.24. No attempt was made to call us when the repair cost more than the price originally quoted. $206.98 to replace a screen that should not have cost more than $60 and required an hour's worth of labor, plus the added inconvenience of being without my work device for weeks and having to chase them down when it had been done "for some time". Never again, Nerd Patrol.

I've taken my computers to this outfit at least four or five times. Each time they act like they're doing me a favor, and don't want my business. Maybe it's the slacker-techie attitude, but for the prices they charge and the time it takes to diagnose the problem (four days the last two times, and it was an obvious issue), I'd definitely search out a different shop.
