Tech Doctors

I have called tech doctors for service a couple of times and each time, the computer problem was resolved. They are experts with technology and I was fortunate to become aware of their business. I will call them for all future issues that arise.

Its amazing what these guys can do. They were very professional and friendly. I didn't think my computer had any life still but they saved it and even cleaned it. It ran and looked like the day I bought it. I highly recommend them for all your computer issues.

I bought a MacBook Pro at the end of 2019 on sale at Costco knowing that I wouldn't use it for a while. My then 8-year-old version worked fine but I figured it was time to get a backup for when my old one gave out. I didn't use the new laptop for about a year and when I did, it worked great for about 6 weeks, then died. I had not purchased Apple Care (something I have always done in the past) because I wasn't sure when I would be using the new MacBook. Plus, I have never had an issue with any of my Apple laptops since I bought my first one in the late 1990's, so thought it was a safe bet to forego the insurance.

After no one at Apple Support could help over the phone or via a chat, I took the MacBook Pro to the Apple Store when it reopened, but none of the local Geniuses could get it started and said it would need to be sent in for repair and would cost between $500 and $600, more than I could afford or wanted to invest in a computer I had barely used. I talked to a local Mac tech, who also could not figure out what was wrong and recommended I send it to a place in NY that would probable be able to fix it for a half of what Apple had quoted me.

I didn't do anything after that for about a year since my old laptop still works fine, but was in Carp recently and thought I would give Tech Doctors a try. I had been quoted $45 to have Paul or Henri look at it and hopefully diagnose it. So, I dropped it off with Paul and by the time I got home in Santa Barbara, he called and asked for passwords.

A short time later, he called back to say it was fixed. I don't think it was even an hour between the time I left my laptop with Paul in Carp and when he let me know it was working. When I asked how much I owed him, he said just the $45 I had been quoted earlier. He was professional, polite and friendly. Could not have been nicer. And he is a true Apple Genius!

Above and beyond solving a difficult software and hardware problem on my business Mac Pros these guys, Henri in particular, advised me on improvements that vastly improved the productivity and safety of our operations. Much better service than I have received from any technical resources before. Highly recommend Tech Doctors!

My MacBook Pro lap top (only a few years old!) suddenly died while in Hawaii. I waited 3 weeks for a technician on island to diagnose it "unknown." I shipped it back to my hometown to Tech Doctors & Henri had it fixed and shipped back to me in 24 hours. Simply Amazing. I'm a customer for life.

Perfect. Close. Friendly. Would use them again for service and support. Park in the public lot and walk right to their door.

I had a time deadline for a trip and my computer wasn't holding a charge well. When I went in to Tech Doctors, it turned out that my battery was swelling. I didn't even know that was a thing. I found out that sometimes swelling batteries explode because of the changing air pressure in an airplane. They had a rental laptop for me. But the morning I was leaving on my trip, my battery came in to their office, they installed it immediately, and I went and picked it up shortly before I needed to leave for the airport.

I appreciate them understanding how much I love my computer and would much have preferred to take my computer than the rental that I had from them. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and I will totally go back there again.

I went to tech doctors once a year ago after frying my computer, and needing major help to save it. Henry was great then, so when I had an issue I couldn't fix on my own recently, I called and got a same day appointment. Great help once again. This kind of expertise is expensive, and I feel like I've always gotten a really good deal on the services.

Prompt, responsive, polite, intelligent service. My problem wasn't complicated but Paul was very helpful, didn't belittle my lack of knowledge, and reduced my stress. I would encourage others to give them a shot.

Took my PC in for repair, major issues. The guys were very knowledgeable and professional. Got my PC back within 2 days. Great job Tech Doctors! I most definitely recommend Tech Doctors.

I had a computer emergency and feared the hard drive was fried. Paul and Henri got me in quickly and Paul fixed my issue as well. He also recommended some other free programs for me to help keep me backed up and secure and installed those. He ROCKS! SO HELPFUL. They saved the day. Highly recommend.

We're on vacation from out of town. Found tech doctors and called. Our iPhone 6s needed a new screen. (One drop too many.) They had a replacement screen and got on it right away. Had it done in 45 minutes. Done and done right! Good prices too.

They are the best computer repair my husband & I have ever been to. My husband was finishing a document that he needed to get out that day. His laptop was acting strange, so he restarted it, but when he did, he only got a blue screen. It wouldn't boot up. Frantic, because my husband was on a deadline with his document, I started calling computer repair companies. Tech Doctors had the best price for running a diagnostic.

It was 3:45 in the afternoon & they closed at 4, but kindly, they said they would wait another 15 minutes for my husband to get his computer to them. The next morning they called us & the hard drive needed to be replaced. They were able to do it that same day. They put in a better hard drive, transferred all the data & it runs so much better than before, at an incredibly reasonable price & my husband was able to get his document out that afternoon.

We are so grateful & will forever be taking our computers to them. Also found out that he builds computers as well. We will be having that done soon too. We highly recommend them. Thank you Tech Doctors!

Henri is the best, very honest and great at explaining exactly what he's doing. I've gone to him for phone and computer support, and been satisfied each time. He can do Mac and PC support which is great. Anything that cant be accomplished DIY, Henri can do.

I had a terrifying moment last week where my iMac filled up with an insane amount of useless data, and got to the point where it wouldn't turn on. I am a wedding photographer, so 80% of what I do is on my computer (editing). I tried not to panic right away, and gave apple support a call. Everything that they told me I had already found online, and already tried.

My conversation ended with them saying, "Sorry, there's nothing further we can do, you need to wipe your computer." They were so useless and unhelpful. As soon as I gave the Tech Doctor's a call, they immediately restored all of my hope. They reassured me they would be able to help in some way, if not, completely fix the problem. Within 30 minutes of hanging up I was in my car driving to Carpinteria with my iMac. Henri greeted me at their office and was eager to help!

I sat with him for about 20 minutes while he worked to get to the root of the problem. SO kind, respectful, knowledgable, professional. I can't say enough good things about my experience here. I ended up leaving my computer there for the weekend to reboot, picked it up the next week and it was like new, and EVERYTHING was intact. Literally saved my @$$. Hands down the best computer repair company I have ever worked with. Don't even bother looking somewhere else to get your stuff fixed, take it to the tech doctors, they will not disappoint!

My computer died over the weekend so I reached out to a few different places I found here and Henry was the first to return my call. He made is super easy to say YES to choosing him, his prices are extremely affordable and his service is completely professional and impeccable. After the initial diagnostic, he mentioned it might be better to replace my computer and gave me excellent recommendations to consider that would not benefit him in any way.

He made me feel like he really cared about helping me, as opposed to just making a buck. I ended up having him fix what I have for now and it's working like a champ! I highly recommend him and Dukkey's. I can't say enough about how great they are.

It's awesome to have computer repair shop locally in Carpinteria, and Dukky Repair is top notch and a great value. Previously when located in Santa Barbara, Dukky was able to fix our computer that had minor water damage for a reasonable rate, that the Apple store wouldn't touch. And I just recently had him replace the battery on my MacBook Air, and now it's working great, better than ever.

I started having issues with my laptop, tried to fix them myself and made a huge mess of it. I thought my laptop was screwed and important files gone. I took it in and in very little time everything was fixed and my files restored. It really was like going to a Tech Doctor. Many thanks.

I rarely use tech support, and was in a bind with a
Virus that shut my lap top system down. I brought my 4 year old Mac book pro in due to being really slow and unable to update to the latest software. Henri replaced my hard drive and a few other components. Now it works perfectly and faster than its ever been! He's also set up a new Wifi system at my house that our family is very satisfied with. Henri is professional, knowledgeable, very personable and a fast worker.

Tech Doctors was there the moment I needed help- they gave me a free consult which saved me an expensive mistake- I almost worked with another company that would have charged me hundreds of dollars. After spilling coffee all over my laptop, I thought my computer was doomed. I took it in to Dukky after flipping it upside down and trying to let the liquid drain out, not having much hope. Henry got it back up and running after just a couple hours, and replaced the keyboard as well. He also backed everything up on an external hard drive for me. AMAZING! I spilled a HUGE glass of water allllll over my laptop two days ago late at night while studying for a midterm. I felt hopeless, but I immediately went on yelp and emailed them at like 3 am from my phone explaining the situation. I was delighted to wake up to an email from Henri, the owner, reassuring me that he could help and saying that I could bring it in any time after 9.

I got off class a little late and knew i wouldn't get there before they closed. I called in just to say i would take it in the next day, but instead, Henri said he would just stay open until I got there! SO SWEET. He opened it up on the spot and showed me where the damage was, even explaining what he would do to help me. The very next day, I picked it up and now I'm happy to say I'm writing this review on the laptop that I thought was completely toast. I will definitely be going back to Henri for any future electronic issues. :))

Henry at Dukky Repair and Recovery is proficient and patient! I spilled Swiffer cleaning fluid into my Mac lap top. It was virtually dead and he brought it back to life, avoiding having to send it to Apple for expensive repairs. His prices are reasonable. I have called him multiple time with little "this and that's" and he trouble shoots and gets me through my crises!

I emailed then with the problem i had with my laptop. And they responded very fast! I took it in and less than 24 hrs my laptop was ready! They were very friendly and explained everything very well! I felt very comfortable leaving my laptop. The cost for my laptop was so affordable! Highly recommend!

GO HERE for computer repairs! Super friendly and knowledgeable, Henri diagnosed and fixed my problem quickly and economically. He communicated exactly what was wrong and his proposed fix in a clear, non-patronizing manner--unlike some other Mac repair places. A more well known shop quoted me a high price for an uncertain outcome, and Henri's price and prognosis were far better than theirs.

Henri noticed my computer was running slow while I was opening a PDF file on my iMac desktop at my office. He told me that my hard-drive is most likely old and needed replacement. He explained to me that hard-drives can go bad because it is constantly spinning like a CD and after many years it will cause the computer to 'crash.' He replaced my hard-drive with a new SSD which stands for 'Solid State Drive' which means it's a newer style of hard-drive that doesn't spin. Henri was able to transfer all my data (photos, programs, files etc) to the new SSD drive and installed it in my iMac.

My computer now runs fast and efficient which saves me time when I'm working on big Photoshop files. He is an Apple Certified Tech but now works independently, which in my opinion behooves the customer because he is not restricted by corporate protocols. The coolest thing about my experience is that Henri clarified many things without using techie vernacular and I not only got a fast working computer at a great price, but I learned a heap of information. Thank you.

Paul came to the rescue in the middle of midterms when my son clicked on a fake Adobe update popup. My son's new MacBook Air was disabled from the malware. The screen was covered in random text and my son couldn't log on or do anything. Paul came promptly, worked quickly and got everything back up and running. He also suggested ways to prevent this from happening again.

I am so grateful and reassured to know that there is someone like TechDoctors who can fix these problems in a fast, hassle-free manner that doesn't take at least a week like the Apple Store.

I took my 2 phones in for a transfer.between a Minolta Android phone and my Apple iPhone. This is something that I did not realize they do not routinely do BUT they knew that I was totally unable to do this myself and was visiting in town for the day only! Henri SO GRACIOUSLY offered to do this task for me at a minimal cost. These two gentlemen are VERY accommodating, easy to talk with and did this transfer the very same day. These guys are awesome! I recently had a 9 year old MacBook that sat in a drawer and collected dust for years. Tech Drs revamped the MacBook and it's working like new. My fiancé uses it as his full time computer and is stoked he doesn't have to buy a new computer! Highly recommend Tech Drs!

Tech doctors have come to my rescue more than once. They were a massive help in integrating a brand new, wireless restaurant pos (point of sale) system into an existing, very old infrastructure. They successfully installed the new software and connected all iPads and wireless networks across 3 floors and a large outdoor dining area, (where others had failed before).

They were also always available for trouble-shooting and follow up. I subsequently mentioned that my MacBook Pro (that I love) was becoming frustrating to use because it was so slow (rainbow spinning wheel all the time). They recommended I replace the hard drive with a solid state drive. They came to me to switch it (and transfer all of my data), and now my 7-year old computer runs like it's brand new! I highly recommend them, for small and big Mac projects.

I can manage my computer fairly well and use most of its functions without help but these guys know their stuff like the back of their hands. For weeks, I spent countless hours trying to diagnose and solve an issue I was having on my laptop. The Internet was giving me all the advice in the world but still, no luck. I was losing motivation and was giving up.
