I recently had my computer serviced from Smart Guy Computers. I thought they would be the most reliable computer repair company in Sanford FL. I was wrong. I brought my computer in on Monday, was told 2-3 days that it would be simply reformatted and "optimized" which they never said what that was. Long story short It took 6 days for my PC to be reformatted and plugged in a hard drive.
I was given no updates so I called on day 3, they said they got a big shipment in so they couldn't get to my PC. In other words if you aren't giving them an expensive job you'll be pushed aside so they can work on the bigger orders. Smart Guys Computers in Sanford FL is a mismanaged company. I talked to two or three different guys and nobody seemed to communicate on what was going on with my reformatting of my PC. I will not be going back to Smart Guys Computers in Sanford FL again.

Yes, Sm@rtGuys Computer is busy, and that is because his customers wouldn't trust anyone else to work on their computers. My computer is my business in a box. I can't imagine trusting ANYONE ELSE with a machine that is important to both my personal and business life. More important, in addition to being expert technicians that stay current on the latest innovations, Sm@rtGuys is HONEST, and that is something I can't say about the other sales and repair businesses. I was looking for a replacement laptop, and found one just to my liking. The sales rep was friendly and knowledgable answering my questions. I would definitely shop here again and recommend my friends. I sent a text to the Google Maps chat, and the owner relayed the message to the salesman that I was coming. I am positively impressed by the owner and the employees of this company. There are highly skilled and pleasant to deal with. Thy solved my multiple problems with my new refurbished Dell computer. The owner, Glenn, kept me entertained with very interesting things, which i enjoyed, while his staff fixed my PC. Also, it was not expensive.

These guys should be called GENIUSES! They have come through for me for YEARS and I thank God above that they're right down the road from me! Glenn, Blake, Sean, all of them are absolutely OUTSTANDING at their work, and this place seems to surprise me every day. Not only are they good at everything relating to IT, but they helped me assemble a $16,000 mining rig from top to bottom!
Even my liquid cooling system these guys were the pros at. Even when other shops and on-call IT companies told me it couldn't be done, these guys made it happen. If I could give them 6 stars I would. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I won't buy my stuff from anywhere BUT HERE! 6 Stars all the way around.

We are a military family in transit - and to save you a very long, long story. I had a document sent to me via UPS. I went in to pick it up, and of course the address on my ID does not match where I am staying, the man who helped me said that I needed a utility bill with MY NAME and a MATCHING address in order to pick up my package. I then handed over my military ID, because I wanted to prove that I was who my MD license said I was. (2 forms of government ID should do the job, right?) the man looked at me, and said - "ma'am that might work with the police, but it will not work with me." I needed this document to get my sons passport so we could head overseas on my husbands new set of orders, and getting it was CHALLENGE.
I went home later to look at UPS' access point policies, and go figure that all you need is an ID with a matching name, nowhere does it say that you need to have a matching address or a utility bill. This man tried to convince me that it was a government policy, not just UPS. UPDATE: I stopped in this afternoon to pick up another package, which should've been at smart guys for 7 calendar days.

Smart Guys Computers is the best place for computer repair or getting a good deal on a new or refurbished lap top, computer, or hardware. Most important, they are honest. A close second, they know computers, operating systems, and programs. No blitz or bling - just a group of professionals that take good care of their customers. fair prices, top notch service, and fast turn-around. I have been using Smart Guys Computers for about 5 years and will not go anywhere else. I HIGHLY recommend Glenn, Jeremiah, Paul, and the other Smart Guys team.

Jeremiah could not have done a better job for us when buying a refurbished Alienware. He was excellent in regard to determining what computer would suit our needs and followed through on everything, setting up the computer just as we needed. He gave personalized service and actually came to the house to fix an issue. This was a far better option than a large chain store where one would never get such personalized service.

UPS dropped off my Amazon package at this place for me to pick up, that's another story. I called in advance to make sure it was there, and it was. The reason I'm giving the bad review is for three reasons: 1. The service rep there helping the individual ahead of me needed his computers fixed and he was asking how soon he would get it back and the rep said about a week and that "we'll get to it when we get to it", "my hands are tied".
Bad customer service. 2. I had to wait almost 20 minutes to do a 2 minute "transaction". The rep said, "it looks like UPS needed the gate code". I responded with "must be a new driver". His response "I don't know, I'm not UPS". Wtf? 3. Employee doesn't know how to mange customers or time. Rude employees and I wouldn't recommend going for that reason alone.

Yeah this guy is a jerk. I called to ask about installing a new operating system on a laptop, he argued with me and said laptops come with operating systems. I know that but I bought one that had been wiped because it had some malware on it and could not get it to run right. I took my business elsewhere. Would not deal with this guy, what an ass.

I purchased a notebook. The PC was upgraded to have 16 gig of memory, Windows 7 Pro OS and it was set up to handle two exterior monitors. Everything was done while I waited. I also got minor issues with a current PC resolved while the 2nd PC was being prepared. This place is exactly what you would hope for. I will return whenever I have any PC needs. They also do small business PC network work

I dropped off my laptop to have it wiped and restored, thinking this was my only required service. The went above and beyond by doing what I requested, but they also took the initiative to install a new hardrive, because it could not run correctly without it. During this process I had so many crazy things going on that the laptop ended up sitting there for about a month.
They not only took very good care of the laptop in my absence, but they were more then understanding and had no hassle or was I pressured to pay for the services rendered. I am one very happy customer! Except I guess i was so happy yesterday when picking up the laptop, that I left my phone in the store and it was 10 minutes past closing time already! (They also stayed past closing to allow me to come in) So guys ill see you Smart Guys bright and early! Thanks again! 10 out of 10 for me!

I personally have had several great experiences with this company and location. I used to drive from Apopka to Tiger Direct in Altamonte when I had PC issues. I tried this location the first time and it was such a good experience that I have gone back several times. Not only was the turn around time 5x faster to get my PC back but it was much more personable and cheaper. In the end, I felt more like they were there to help me, not just take my money. I would rather talk to Tech Support from India! The previous reviewers are being kind to these ID10T's. I had a previous bad experience with them in regards to ordering a replacement hard drive for a laptop.swore I would never go back.time constraints forced me back today to replace a DC jack on another laptop.simple job.open laptop case and pull jack back into its little holder.
Smart Guys service tech seemed miffed, like I was interrupting his WOW game, rudely and VERY condescendingly claimed it was impossible the piece was "broken" and it would take 3-5 days to order part and replace for $125!.WHAT? Went back home opened it myself and Krazy glued the jack into its holder! FYI the part on EBay was only $3.95.should change their name to "Lake Mary rent is too damn high!" Nothing "smart" about this company!

These guys are awful. They sold me a computer that didn't work. They have this "guarantee, " where if something they sell you breaks down, they'll keep fixing it until it does work. But if they never really fix it, you're out of luck. And they make the repair process into a huge hassle, so eventually you'll just give up and go away.
They fixed my computer, which I bought new from them, at least 5 times, and every time was a HUGE hassle. They'd take weeks to get it done. Then they'd tell you all the work they'd done to it, how much better they made it. They once returned it to me "fixed" and it wouldn't even power on. They claimed they replaced the motherboard multiple times, every time saying, "this new one is a LOT better than that old one." But they had just sold me the old one, so they were basically admitting to selling junk. Plain and simple, these guys are incompetent at best and more likely rip-off artists.

Hey Cheap Guys.yes, I'm looking at you; just because you changed your name doesn't always make things better. Just so you know, I have spent less money here since the change. The following judgement aside, the in-store/display inventory from what I have seen does not compare to your competitors where in the past, it did. Now on to my rant.
Please bring back the nice people that used to work here because the current batch at this store are a little less than helpful. That is probably the best thing you have going for you so don't screw that up. You would think that a motherboard test would be a pretty easy thing to handle. On the other 5 boards I have had tested in the past, it was a 10-20 minute walk-in situation.
Apparently today, that wasn't such a great thing to ask for (from my perspective). Maybe it was a case of wrong day, wrong time, bad chemistry, miscommunication and all that. The exact second the person doing the testing waffled about doing the test, and how it would take up to a couple of days (quickly downgraded to a few hours by the other employee) and not having the right chips to test it I just had to get out of there.
I even offered to leave my CPU, heat sink/fan and RAM for them to borrow but I think they were afraid of testing them by accident as I only wanted to pay to have the board tested. Did I shoot them some attitude? I sure did. I'm usually pretty polite but somehow those wanna be Geek Squad (insert Best Buy branding trademark here) dildos got completely under my skin and I had to show them some teeth. Congratulations Comp USA/Tiger Direct and Newegg.you will get ALL of my future computer related funds instead of just some of them. Somehow the stereotypical online crapshoot got a lot more manageable.

This is a small, locally owned computer shop that is very helpful whenever we go there. The clerk is always very solicitous and doesn't try to upsell you or give you things you don't need. The first time we came we were desperate for a cheap computer and our financial situation was incredibly bad. Glen came through for us and when we had for another computer stop working in less desperate circumstances we knew where we needed to go.
Jeremiah was very helpful when we came in and told him what we needed.
He tested the laptop right there to see whether it could be fixed and didn't charge us for it. When it turned out it would be cheaper to get a new one than fix the old one, we told him what we used the computer for and how much we could spend. These guys are great, They have the best pricing around for used computers. As an I.T. Guy for small business ive bought a lot of computers from competitors at the same price but the hardware i got was WAY lower spec and quality.
