In 1993, I decided to pursue a career in computer technology. I went back to school and became certified as a Certified Novel Engineer (CNE). This certification led me to employment with Rockwell Aerospace in Downey. As part of a team of twenty computer engineers, we facilitated Rockwell's Windows 95 rollout for their entire campus, over 8,000 users. I continued working with Rockwell as part of their desktop support team for many years until IBM came in the account and hired me to become a part of their team. In 1997 I was involved in the Boeing / McDonald Douglas merger where we organized the closure of the Downey facility while we moved and merged all our users to the MD Huntington Beach campus.
In 1998 I obtained my Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification, which enabled me to work with the company servers. When the all dust settled I was team leader of 30 technicians performing the day to day operations for Boeing's Huntington Beach campus which consisted of over 14,000 desktops. In 2003 I started my own business in computer support and web development, I later brought in a partner who lead the company in a direction I did not intend to follow. As a result I now keep it simple, it's me, my son part time, and a host of industry friends and connections that I use as a resources once in a while. Today I'm not looking for a fast buck, I want to build long term relationships with my customers so they can count on me and I can count on them to be around for years to come.
