1. Enclose hard drive or other storage media into an anti-static bag (anti-static bags can be obtain at just about any computer retail store or computer repair shop.) Also, you can use a Zip-Lock sandwich bag. 2. Place storage media inside a sturdy box (position media in the center of the box) and insulated with at least (minimum) of 2 inches of protection on all sides. For insulation you can use foam, bubble-wrap, shipping-peanuts, etc. Packaging materials can be obtained at any shipping outlet or stationary store.
When a media failure (RAID, NAS, Hard Drive, SSD, USB Memory stick, Camera chip, etc.) occurs, your customer is in a panic! Research indicates that they call you, the dealer, first. Most dealers refer the customer to the manufacturer. The manufacturer's warranty only covers the medium itself, not the data.

My experience with Advanced Data Solutions has been extremely positive. I brought my SSD that died on me to their location in National City. Their free consultation and inspection, with results within 1-2 days, were thorough and concise. They explained all the things that were wrong with the hard drive and gave me a fair quote for the recovery. You are even able to see the data they recover before committing to paying so that you can gauge if your data is worth the money to you. Customer service is very accommodating and understanding. Joe is especially helpful and kind. I highly recommend this place!

Advance Data Solutions is awesome! I was pretty desperate, the hard drive for my business failed after trying to move it from one computer to different more powerful computer. For some crazy reason after moving it, the drive would no longer boot up. I thought I had lost all of the data. I originally took the hard drive to a different computer repair shop.
They kept the hard drive for two and a half weeks with no results. They told me that my known and verified good drive was corrupt. I was extremely disappointed. I called Advance Data Solutions. I gave them a description of the failure, and how the failure came to be. I gave them the hard drive. The gentleman at the counter explained to me what he thought happened and that their team would give it the best attention available.
He said that he was pretty confident that he could get the data from the hard drive. He called me the next day with great news. He was able to recover the data, including the programs. I provided him with a second hard drive. He was able to re-image the second hard drive with the recovered data from the original hard drive. I was ecstatic! However, my woes did not stop there.
I needed the hard drive to be installed in my computer. I found myself having boot issues with my computer. I took the newly imaged hard drive and my computer to the same shop that previously could not recover the data hoping they would have better luck this time. Again, I was met with disappointment. Again, they kept my computer for two weeks with no results.
I called Advance Data Solutions. They instructed me to bring the computer in. They said, if the computer could not be repaired, there would be no charge. My computer was repaired and was up and running the next day! These guys really know what they are doing. They are professional and friendly. Recently I had a catastrophic failure of my phone and as such lost all of my data on my phone. It was truly devastating as i had 3 years of my life in pictures on my phone. I luckily did my research and found Advanced Data Solutions and felt they would be the ones for the job to help me recover my pictures. From the moment I first made contact with Joe I knew I had chosen the right place. Joe was very professional but at the same time warm and understanding and assured me they would try their best to get my pictures for me.
My story has a happy ending as the technicians worked on my phone and recovered everything for me much to my relief. They allowed me to sit down and take my time and view all my recovered data before signing off on it and paying. I cant thank Joe and his team enough! Our hard drive on our server was dying, we were fortunate to bring in the corrupted Hard drive just before it died. The team of Jose and Tim were awesome in being able to retrieve years of work and files for our business accounts. It took quite, a while, but mostly because our equipment was outdated. The staff we very courteous and professional along the entire process, and are still taking the time to help explain how to ensure we don't have another backup issue in the future. I would highly recommend them.

Review of my experience with Advanced Data Solutions, National City, CA I would give Advanced Data Solutions a rating of five on a scale of one through five in all areas including engineering competence, staff professionalism and staff attitude of giving excellent customer service. A day later I received a call from Guadalupe who let me know that in the opinion of the ADS engineers, most of my data could be recovered from the disabled hard drive. A few days later I walked out of the ADS shop with 100% of my data fully recovered and residing on an external hard drive.
I am very pleased with the care and professionalism that was shown by Joe, Guadalupe and Tim among several others who worked on my project. The price was exactly what was quoted up front, and they met an aggressive time schedule for this kind of work. Most importantly, I have all of my data that was lost in the hard drive crash incident. I was completely crushed when I accidentally overwrite my external hard drive existing files when I chose Mac Time Machine. That's right, when you use Time Machine to backup your MacBook, it erases all your existing files in your external hard drive. Needless to say, this is a very painful lesson as I lost my life memories (photos and videos) and my life long career documents and files.
When I called Advanced Data, Joe was very kind to me and reassure me it was a common mistake. He listen actively to learn every steps I've made leading up to the mistake and walk me thru the process they will do to assess my hard drive for the recovery. I called many hard drive recovery companies in San Diego. Almost all of them wanted me to send/drop off my hard drive and they will ship it out to a lab for assessment.
Advanced Data was the only company in San Diego that was able to assess my hard drive locally in their shop. Throughout the entire process Joe and his team were professional, honest, straightforward - no games, and treated with me with respect and dignity. They were able to recover 99% of my files and even restored those files with its original file names.
It took just a few days to recover all the files, all the while, they never took down my cc info until I was completely satisfied with the recovery. Joe and his team have earned my trust and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is ever in a bind like this.

Advance Data Solutions has great customer service. The General Manager, Joe Cruz, was very professional, courteous, patient, and understanding. He made sure that I was happy with the service that they provided. He explained to me all what entails in data recovery and the excellent work his technician provides (Tim). He also assured me that any data recovered is confidential and once I acquired the data, they will delete it from their servers.

There is nothing worse than trying to retrieve information from your external hard drive and the computer doesn't recognize it. I took my hard drive into a computer repair shop and may said the damage was beyond what they could repair. They referred me to Advanced Data Solutions. I took my hard drive in and they discovered that it was fried. See the pictures. Joe was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
He was very thorough in his explanation of the process and the realities of data recovery. With hope and a couple of prayers along with their skilled employees in the lab they were able to successfully recover more than 99% of my data. It nearly brought me to tears of joy. I made the mistake of never making a backup of the data on my external hard drive which contained approximately 35,000 pictures from over the last 20 years as well as about a thousand important documents and certificates. The team at Advanced Data Solutions was professional and I highly recommend their company for any of your data recovery needs. Two thumbs up.
