I am a lawyer/small business owner. I have two Synology network attached storage (NAS) devices. I started getting messages that the drives in one of the devices was going bad. Having had a nightmare experience with a different authorized Synology vendor, I decided to try another authorized Synology vendor to help me with this problem. I contacted Uwharrie Technology, Inc. and they helped me understand the problem during a phone call and then gave me a proposed solution and price quote.
They did what they said they were going to do, when they said they were going to do it, and my problem was resolved just as they had explained it would be. They were very responsive to all of my phone calls and/or emails from the first time I contacted them until my problem was resolved. Although they are located at least an hour away from me (I'm in Winston Salem, NC), they were able to do a lot by connecting to my computer remotely.
I had several power interruptions in my building while they were applying the solution to my problem which made the process a lot more difficult than it should have been, but Uwharrie did not charge me extra for the extra time they had to invest due to the power outages. Another thing I really liked about Uwharrie is they didn't try to upsell me on anything- products or services or anything else.
They simply analyzed my problem, proposed a solution that I could accept or decline, then fixed the problem according to the plan and budget they proposed. I highly recommend them.

I went in last week with 2 different issues. 1. My existing MacBook/Pro was misbehaving. They ran some test and were able to fix it on the spot at a very reasonable price. We were off to a good start. 2. I also needed to purchase a new computer for work. I brought in the requirement sheet from my office with what the computer will need to have (none of which I understood). Thomas Taylor understood and ordered what I needed at this appointment.
I expected the computer the week of the 18th. They called today and said it had arrived. I picked it up about an hour ago and it is so fast. What a difference with work already. I am so excited to get started with my new laptop. Thank you Uwharrie Technology and thank you to Thomas Taylor for providing such great service.
