TechRestore is a funny name for a place that doesn't know how to replace micro-usb ports. Mentioned the word solder and the worker looked at me like I was speaking gibberish.

There company is a joke and scam there laptop are over priced for used products. They try to sell me a 2015 MacBook pro for $950 and you can go to Best buy and buy a 2022 for $1,100. Don't buy from them

WOW! Can't say enough about this place! From the first phone call placed on a Saturday in which the guy that answered the phone told me to call back on Monday when the more experienced tech was there to better address my question (he wanted to make sure I had the answers I needed before coming up since I was out of town) to picking up my now upgraded MacBook Pro, the service I received was beyond compare! Travis knew his stuff both immediately over the phone and in dialogue on my first visit giving me the confidence to know I was being taken care of and not take advantage of.

The price to upgrade my device was even less than the first initial quote and the speed at which he got it done was well worth the trip and the trust! I will definitely be bringing all my Apple products to them for upgrades and repair-THANK YOU for simply being available and trustworthy! -James Hummel

Very professional. I brought my laptop in because it would not charge. They diagnosed it as a bad charging cable and didn't charge me anything! I will take any future phone or PC problems to them!

I didn't go here this time. I went next door to the barber shop and got my hair bangs trimmed. Easy peasy. Thank you for being there MR Barbershop man

This place was nice, organized, and very clean. We had taken our small tablet and charger cord to be replaced. Actually it was just the cord that needed to be replaced because the metal piece had broken. At the time they didn't have the cord that we needed but the gentleman was kind enough to direct us to Best Buy where they would likely have the cord we needed. This gentleman was very helpful. He was dressed nicely, his hair and beard were neatly groomed and he was personable.

Excellent laptop repair services! Had a fairly difficult repair job done on my Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga 2nd gen Ultrabook (Mobo replacement) by Tanner who was super professional and explained the entire repair process in detail, giving me frequent updates on the repair status. Part shipped quickly (was told all their parts were from OEM, which was a huge relief as this part was hard to find from any other reliable vendor online other than OEM) and laptop was ready for pickup shortly after that. Mobo was cleanly installed (see picture) with all ribbon cables and thermal shielding tapes and CPU fan/heatsink back in place as the original factory state.

Labor cost was also super reasonable relative to part cost and job difficulty (Ultrabook Mobo repair is one of the hardest repair jobs in such compact laptops that have tons of sensors and peripherals (screen digitizer, fingerprint sensor, battery, speaker, etc.) that connect with very small/fragiles cables and pin connectors that snap into the motherboard). Very much satisfied with the service and will definitely recommend TechRestore to family and friends!

I'm not one to leave many reviews; good or bad but I have to brag on Tech Restore. The team there was patient with me as I aimlessly tried to articulate the problem. They were super friendly and communicated with me throughout what turned out to be a fairly complicated hardware issue. After seeing the efficiency and quay of their work I will be using them again - if even to to buy refurbished devices because I know the quality of their work. Thanks again Tech Restore!

I brought my phone in and had it fixed for $243.80. Which, for a college student, is a lot of money to put out for a screen repair. When I got the phone back it was a little touchy but I assumed it was because the screen was new and I wasn't used to that. A week after getting it repaired, I hadn't dropped it or anything, a green line popped up on the screen.

I called them and they told me that they would get back to me and they never did. The green line had gone away and I was too busy with my school work to notice that they hadn't gotten back to me. Then, two days ago, my phone just turned off and got stuck on the loading screen. I called again and was told that they cannot issue me a refund because to do so they need to replace the awful screen they put in with the original one that was messed up.

I can't even attempt to do that because I just go to school in Kentucky and with all of this COVID-19 mess I had to go back home to Texas. They did not even refund me when I told them there was no way I could just go in and get the screen swapped. Now I'm out $243.80 because they couldn't properly repair my phone and will not give me a refund. They are nice but I wouldn't let them repair anything.

The time where one single key kept falling off the keyboard. Yes, just one. Only one. I have found every YouTube video, and followed instructions to put it back. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful. Do you know how annoying it is when you spend a lot of time working from home and you can't type correctly? Oh, and you know which key it was? T. The letter T.

It couldn't be X, Q, or Z, it was T. Now what's a girl to do when the YouTube videos just keep failing her? The Apple Store seemed like it would just be too much of a hassle, appointments, Genius Bar, crowds at the mall, you get the idea. Now what? Check yelp of course to see who can help with repair. The first hit I got on Yelp, tech restore.

They offered quotes and information about appointments. I submitted a request via quotes to explain my issue. I was contacted quickly and given a reasonable quote, and advised I didn't need an appointment. So on this lovely Saturday, I ventured out to a Tech Restore with my computer hoping for a miracle. The location is in a strip mall. It is open and inviting with old Mac's gracing the walls as decoration and as a coffee table.

You can purchase iPhone cases and refurbished laptops and iPads in the space. The technician who met us was very kind. I told him the issue and he asked to look at it. We shared stories and jokes while he worked on it. It took him about 15 minutes but he got my issue resolved. I was overjoyed! I'm so excited. Given the comparison of getting a new computer, this was a much better option! Thank you so much to the kind folks of Tech Restore! I know where to bring my device when I have issues!

Took my 2011 iMac in several months ago for email glitches, connectivity issues, etc. & left it it for diagnosis. The tech solved one issue but it kept reoccurring @ home & rather than offering to solve the problem kept asking me ridiculous questions over the phone. As I did not want to leave the computer at the store, I went to Simply Mac which ran a Malware program & eliminated all the problems while I waited. It appears that Tech Restore did not even run a Malware program which I now downloaded for free nor did they offer a refund for my $80 expenditure. I shall not return.

Took in an ailing mid 2012 MacBook Pro - staff were courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. Offered a free diagnosis, which required some disassembly and an overnight wait while they prepared a cost estimate. We discussed several options, including replacement, but they never pushed for higher cost options. In fact they recommended lowest cost options. I thought the estimate was reasonable - they completed as promised and guaranteed for a year. Would use again. Len

Being a small business owner, my laptop is my #1 tool, so when mine started having some power issues I somewhat dreaded having to find a place for repairs. After seeing all the positive reviews that TechRestore has, I decided to reach out. I received a quick reply and was told to bring it on in. Being without my laptop was going to be hard, especially since I didn't know how long.

I dropped it off Tuesday at 4pm and was told it shouldn't take more than a day or two. I received a call the next day at noon being informed that all issues had been resolved and that it was ready for pickup. I picked it back up on Wednesday at 4pm. I don't care what line of work you are in a 24-hour turnaround time is incredible. I dealt with PJ both days and he was extremely personable and I felt completely comfortable leaving my companies backbone in his hands. Thank you all so much for the quick, quality work and great customer service. You have made life long customers out of The Party Stage Co.

My MacBook lost the ability to remember wifi networks. I didn't want to make an appointment at the Mac store and go for a brief appointment in a crowded store. In fact, other repair stores recommended TechRestore to me. Marc worked on my computers. He explained everything and offered repair options. I do not speak computer, so he explained everything in plain English, which I appreciated.

I felt the price was reasonable. I would imagine it would be more expensive at the Mac store, because almost everything is more expensive at the Mac store. TechRestore also offers a guarantee. When my laptop continued to fail to remember wifi networks, I just took it back to the store and they were able to fix the problem once and for all. It turns out the problem was more complicated than expected.

I like that I could just take it back and that my laptop didn't have to be mailed off for repair. I also liked that they call with repair updates. This will be my go-to place for repairs.

Great staff, very helpful. I had a cracked iPad cover and was arranging to have it repaired when I noticed a refurbished iPad for sale for a bit more than the cover repair. I inquired about it and decided that would be a better option. I was able to get the new iPad and am enjoying it immensely! It's a much newer model than the one I brought into repair!

Price was in line with other area businesses, but also quote stated that it came with a one year guarantee. They checked my phone and determined that I only needed one of the two services I requested. Fixed the phone without the one unnecessary charge. Would definitely recommend them.

One morning I woke up to my laptop next to me still open. I decided to close the laptop in my drowsy state and I accidentally closed it with my lightning cable resting near the top of the speakers. The glass and screen shattered and I was left with an unusable screen. Here is where TechRestore comes into play. My father already had a TechRestore box from a previous transaction with my uncle (my uncle sent in his computer, so we had a left over box to ship my computer).

I am telling you this because TechRestore commented a few times that my hinge issues were when I dropped and shattered my screen. MY COMPUTER HAS NEVER BEEN DROPPED. The screen shattered due to stress placed on the corner of the glass from the lightning cable. Send my computer to TechRestore, turn around time is less than a week which is impressive.

Open up the box and my computer and the hinge is not even screwed in. At all. There was so much wobble and free play in the hinge that I emailed them and sent it right back. No hassle and they paid shipping. Mistakes happen so this wasn't a huge deal albeit an annoyance. A week later I receive my computer. I open up the package again to inspect my device.

This is where I start to document my experience. After all, the first hinge issue might have been a fluke. Mistakes happen and I can forgive a one time ordeal. Finally open the computer and see this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHsVysLG6mY). AGAIN the issue is the hinge and I must send it back again! I am without a computer for a total of 2 weeks at this point and I still have a broken unusable laptop.

I am sure everyone knows how vital their computer is in their life. Answering emails and working on documents on my iPhone was manageable but it sucked. TechRestore asks me to send it back so they can look at it and "fix" the problem. I oblige, turn around time this time is around a week and a half due to snow storms. Finally, I receive my computer.

Do not turn it on just yet, instead I inspect the physical screen and hinge. Everything seems to be in order fantastic. Boot up the computer. The brightness is all fucked up. The brightness refuses to move on my screen now (still a current issue). I work in low light and now my computer screen barely dims. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FGDCsT_2qc).

This was never an issue before I sent in my computer. And no night shift or flux is not on. There is also now screen leakage at the bottom during both black and white screens. https://i.imgur.com/eu1204K.jpg Notice the white dots at the bottom of the screen and the inconsistency of the white at the bottom. https://i.imgur.com/Q2fASfZ.jpg ignore the lights at the top, that is a reflection.

Look at the bottom again and the amount of light leakage there is. How can I enjoy a movie in full screen with this issue? TechRestore has told me multiple times that they have quality control. In my experience I have been the quality control every time my computer comes back. All these issues are not hard to find, it is disappointing that their quality control is lacking and/or non-existent.

I need my computer for my everyday errands and work, I cannot afford to send it back for THE THIRD TIME. I understand shit happens but for shit to happen three separate times is a joke. The only redeeming factor of this company is the customer service. Their quality of work is abhorrent as well as their quality control.

After my first visit, these guys won my loyality. They far exceeded my expectations with a difficult fix of an iPhone7. Good communication, very fair pricing structure and highest integrity mark their work. They specialize in Apple products and really know the products well. Can't recommend them enough.

Great job. I got three iPads with broken screens repaired here. They told me my options (with no bs or upsell), what it would cost, and how long it would take. I paid up front. Then they got it all done ahead of schedule. Dawn, at the front desk, and Chet the technician were very friendly and helpful--a pleasure to work with.

I would highly recommend TechRestore. I brought my 2009 Macbook Pro in for a hard drive upgrade. Their service is great and efficient. The customer service people were very friendly and patient. I brought my Macbook in at 1pm and was told I could pick it up at 8am the next day. Although I wish I could've picked it up on the same day, it's way faster than dropping it off at the Apple store and waiting for them to upgrade it. Additionally, it comes with a 1 year warranty. Yes, the parts are obviously cheaper if you order them yourselves, but not everyone has the parts and time on hand to do the upgrade themselves, which is what I think makes TechRestore's services great.

Well my room mate suggested this place, so I figured give it a whirl. I went in on a Friday and was told I would be better to bring it in another day. So I waited until the next week and dropped off my phone at 1:11. I was told I would get an email when my status was updated. I asked if it would be done by the next morning and the person who checked me in said "Who knows, sometimes they shock and awe." At a little before 3:00 I was emailed to call about my order status. Turns out my home button on my phone just needed to be re-aligned and I was just charged a few dollars for that, and my new battery has a 1 year warranty and it was ready to be picked up. Shock and awe. For a little over 100 bucks I have a phone that is ready to go another 3 years. Shock and awe. I will be telling everyone about this one.

Dropped off my 4 year old macbook for a hard drive upgrade one afternoon. Received a call the next morning that my computer was ready for pickup, just as promised. TR finished the job early and did it right. Everything was copied to the new drive perfectly (you wouldn't even notice the difference except for the extra space). Finally I should note the price was much cheaper than some of the local shops, so it was well worth the 30 minute drive. I wish all merchants were as reliable as TR.

My kid sat on his MacBook and cracked the screen. The Genius at The Apple Store wanted $800 to fix it, or rather, have me buy a new one for $999. It didn't take this "Genius, " me, to figure out there must be a better way. TechRestore to the Rescue! Googled up "Mac Screen Repair" and "About 5,460,000 results (0.20 seconds" later, they were at the top of the list.

Reading a bit more, they're in Concord, or is it Clayton!?! Called up Linda who said TechRestore could replace the screen for $229 with free shipping (2-5 days snail mail each way) or if I bring it in, $250, same day, and done in about 1-1/2 hours. I left Berkeley and was in "God's Country, Clayton and/or Concord, CA" in about a half hour.

It was kinda hard to find, even with GPS. TechRestore is in an industrial park, right behind Costco. Know that in back of Costco is no help, because Costco is a really "big mother f'n of a store!" Remember, it's on the corner of a while building with an Oak Tree in front. Dropped it off, went to lunch at Emil Villa's Original Hick'ry Pit in Walnut Creek (my good friend owns the store), got a really great car wash at Ebi Car Wash, and just like they promised, it was all fixed and ready when I returned.

They sell refurbished Macs, even the dinosaurious, iBookG4! And of course, those pesky iPhone screens. Nice place, good service, great people. Still, hard to find. It takes a Genius!
