After repeated promises to call me back to schedule an appointment, they told me that they couldn't see me for two weeks. I went elsewhere for my warranty work.

Terrible experience. First it took 45 minutes to explain the simplest problem and give our address. The person seriously did not know data input. We arrived on site and spent more than 45 minutes redoing the info! Re-explaining the simple problem. We told them we were only in town for a few days and needed quick service. No problem. They would call that day-$99 for diagnostic.

Two days later--No estimate. No call. We called them. No diagnostic had not been done! We explained the problem again and reiterated we were in a hurry, and we're told they would send an estimate that day. --Again No estimate, no call. Weekend. Monday. Please, we don't have much time. We will send it right out. --Yet again -No estimate, no call. Tuesday called again, talked with head of customer service explained entire problem for the 5th time.

It turns out that they had not done a full diagnostics at all, and that it could be one of two things. Maybe a loose wire, and maybe the panel. We knew that before we called them! Then he sent an estimate for two possibilities that was incomprehensible, with no totals on either repair. At that point we just asked for our computer back. I would not trust them to fix a rubber band in a timely manner.

We still had to pay the $99, despite the remarkable unprofessionalism, and several hours of communication. And seriously, we had spent well over four hours giving information multiple times, going through the problems multiple times, phoning, dropping it off, picking it up. Astounding. We since found out that Best Buy gives free diagnostics for 20 minutes (all this should take i believe), and will fix the problem.and their labor cost is lower. Ameritech has the Lenovo contract, I guess.still. No excuse.

Very reasonable repair. My laptop took a tumble and the screen when crazy. When I took it in they also found my hard drive had some bad sectors. They were able to reconnect the screen without replacing it and cloned the drive to new one. Easy communication and quality work. I won't go anywhere else AGAIN!

For years I had reasonably good and reliable service from these Ameritech, but my last three experiences have been disappointing. Twice they "could not get parts" and declined the repair which I was able to get done elsewhere. Once they did a cleaning on site which was nothing more than the manual instruction for user trouble shooting and I'd have done myself (for free) if they'd given any indication there was no other cleaning they were able to do.
